I can't see it happening for him this season. Though he's arguably got a lot more experience than guys like Bendtner or Walcott, since he's played first team football in La Liga for two seasons.

I really hope he gets to play in a few games this season. Other than those during the Carling Cup. I think if given the opportunity he'll do very well especially because in my opinion Arsenal's got a better team behind him than Osasuna or Celta Vigo did. If he's allowed he'll do great things for Arsenal. He's a very good fella that Vela...haha. Yeah, I'm corny.

I hope that Wenger plays more of the younger keepers like Fabianski or Szczesny because Almunia isn't the youngest of players, and your never too young to get some first team experience.

I think he will prove to be a great sub against fatigued defences, seeing that he has lots of pace, and hope that he will slowly get into the starting line up against weaker teams by the end of the season. Off course he is not the complete package just yet, but he does have some assets that Bendtner, as much as i like him, doesn't seem to possess. For example the ability to own defenders one on one and play one touch football (cause admit it, Bendtner will be as good as you can get in that 'physical striker' role, but he is not that comfortable with the ball at his feet).

Carlos Vela in the Carling Cup...wow. Especially the 2nd goal. Class. Pure class. I hope he starts in the PL soon. Him and Bendtner I'm excited to see together.
